Fashion Trends We're Glad We Said No to

Fashion trends come and go. Some are here to stay while others, well, not so much. Over the years, there have been some "trends" so outrageous we can't believe anyone ever thought they were a good idea. In spite of their short-lived fame, we can look back and be glad that these were fleeting trends and we chose to opt out of them. In this blog post, we will look at some of the craziest and most ridiculous fashion trends throughout the decades that thank goodness we said no to.
The fashion world is ever-changing and sometimes it can be hard to keep up with the latest trends. Some of these trends, while being popular at the time, can look quite outrageous in hindsight. Here are some fashion trends we’re glad we said ‘no’ to!
First up, we have to mention the neon trend of the 1980s. While neon garments were popular at the time, they’re not something most of us would wear today. From neon green sweaters to fluorescent yellow tights, this trend was one we can all be thankful is well and truly over.
Next up, we have the ultra-low-rise jeans of the early 2000s. While these jeans were everywhere at the time, they’re definitely something most of us have forgotten about. Not only did these jeans make it difficult to find a good fit, but they often left little to the imagination!
We also have to mention the Ugg boots trend of the mid-2000s. While these boots were a staple in many people’s wardrobes, they’re not something we’d wear today. Not only were these boots incredibly unflattering, but they were also known for being uncomfortable and hard to walk in.
Finally, we have to mention the choker necklace trend of the late 2010s. While chokers were popular for a few years, most of us have moved on from this trend. Choker necklaces can look great when worn with certain outfits, but they’re not something we’d wear day-to-day anymore.
Fashion trends come and go, and it’s important to remember that what’s popular now may look dated in a few years’ time. We can all be thankful for the fashion trends that we said ‘no’ to!
As fashion trends come and go, some of them stay with us longer than others. We’ve seen a resurgence of some of these “no” trends from the past, like the mullet haircut and platform shoes. While some of these trends have been around for decades, others have just recently made their way back into fashion. For example, the cropped pants trend has recently taken off, and it’s one that we’re glad we said no to!
Another trend that we’re glad we said no to is the neon trend of the 80s. From bright colors to loud prints, this trend was loud and proud. Thankfully, it has since been replaced with more muted and sophisticated colors.
Finally, we’re glad we said no to the cargo shorts trend. This trend has been popular for men over the past few decades, but it’s on its way out. Cargo shorts are too bulky and unflattering, and can make even the most stylish man look like a slob. We’re glad this trend is dying out!
Overall, fashion trends come and go, but some of them are ones that we’re glad we said no to! From neon colors to cargo shorts, these trends are ones that we can all agree should stay in the past.
The takeaway from this post is that fashion trends come and go, but it's important to have the confidence to wear only the looks that make you feel your best. No one should ever be pressured to follow a trend that they don't like or feel comfortable in. It's okay to say "no" to a trend, and to stick to your own personal style.
